The past couple of weeks I’ve been chatting about re-connecting with your spirit guides. But one of the most important energies to stay in touch with is your higher self!
The question is, how to do it?
The iChing, an ancient oracle I read when things get cloudy and my intuition seems off, illustrated this to me this October.
I was confused about a challenging situation, and had a hard time connecting with my inner wisdom. The solution iChing gave me was hexagram 33, which is Retreat. This is not a negative retreat. It’s a retreat into yourself. It’s about renouncing the outer world and going within.
Retreat means gracefully nesting back into your home, your higher self, all the things you love, the things that help you feel like life is beautiful. It’s cultivating the power of your heart.
This is about returning to what makes your heart sing, what feeds your soul, what makes you happy. What you really love, the things you love to read, participate in, research on, be active in. All these things serve to lead you back to your origin, higher self, who you are.
When you go within, what do you find there?
Retreat allows you to hear the yearnings of your soul. Your higher self then becomes the dominant energy you follow as opposed to the “shoulds” that society places on this or that.
This is a message of cultivating power and strength by withdrawing. By actively being engaged with the world, you can forget the sound of your inner callings. But by pulling back, you come back to the foundation of who you are.
I am actively doing this now, and it is eye-opening. Not only that, it’s refreshing to remember who I am and what I really love.
If you make it to the end of this video, please share in the comments on YouTube about your own practices of connecting with inner wisdom. What do you love to do? What does your soul love? How do you connect with your higher self?
Thanks so much for reading and watching, and I’ll see you next time!
