When you are on the spiritual path and working on healing yourself, one of the best things you can do is forgive those who have hurt you. Not so the other person feels better, but so you are released from the pain that was created and the damage that was done to you.

Forgiving Bullies

Many of us sensitive people have been hurt by bullies. It’s a trigger issue for me, because I’ve been bullied. I know how painful and horrible it is. Bullies are scary. When you’re in a home or work environment where you can’t easily escape, it’s a matter of life and death. So the forgiveness of bullies is an extra powerful exercise for spiritual growth.

How can you possibly forgive a horrible, mean person like a bully?

Escape First

Obviously, getting away from (or stopping) a bully is the top priority. Earlier this year, my son told me an older boy at his school was bullying him, and recruited 3 other little boys to the cause. I immediately called the principal, who nipped it in the bud. In some cases, though, bullies won’t stop. The only recourse is to get far away from them. Once you’ve escaped, you can begin to heal the damage that was done to you.

How to Heal

The most gentle way of dealing with the fallout from bullies is to understand what happened to them and why they behave that way. Understanding is like a soothing balm on a wound, and it immediately reduces inflammation and starts the healing process.

Some bullies are just downright evil people. Everything is not all roses out there, and some humans actually delight in torturing other people. Others have psychological disorders for which there is no cure. If you can understand that they are sick, as are the evil people, you can release them with compassion and forgiveness because they know not what they do. They are ill.

Other bullies were abused as children or adults, and feel threatened by you and your light. They are acting out because they’re in pain. Their self-esteem is so low that they thrive on taking others down.

The Writing Process

There are other reasons people bully, of course. One of the most profound and powerful ways you can heal AND boost your intuitive skills is to journal. Write out why the person acts the way they do. Create it like a story. Chances are, you will be more accurate than you could ever begin to believe. And this writing process is very healing. You will hit on powerful truths.

You can then write “I release you, and I forgive you. You will not longer hurt me” or something to that effect. And if you want to make a ceremony out of it, burn the story about the person, and burn your note of forgiveness. Do this when the moon is waning, and you will have a powerful releasing process.

The act of forgiveness of a bully is serious work. And it’s important, because it releases you from being a victim. When you forgive, you lock in your true power. You are safe and protected. And that means you have the power to advocate for others who are being bullied. Together we can overcome this on a global scale.

Today’s video and write-up came at the request of a light worker/healer who is having a hard time keeping her energy grounded and clear while working with special needs patients (dementia, extreme non-verbal autism, alzheimers, etc). She has noticed that she tends to match their brainwaves inadvertently, which is, understandably, very uncomfortable.

She is well-versed in psychic protection techniques, but they simply aren’t enough in this case. So she asked if there were any other methods that might help.

I am so glad she asked this, because, for many of us, no matter how many psychic and energy tools we have, and how aware we are of our own energy, keeping the energy of other people away from us and out of our fields can be EXTREMELY challenging. Some of us are such natural empaths that we don’t know how NOT to match other people’s waves. It’s just how we operate. Try stopping someone from being how they naturally are – that would be ridiculous!

Everyone is unique, and, therefore, everyone is affected by things in different ways.

It’s interesting, because I was having a conversation recently with a friend who is a nurse. And she told me that her shifts are 12 hours long, with one 30-minute, and two 15-minute breaks. That’s 12 hours of almost nonstop intensive care-taking for the people who are physically, mentally, and emotionally suffering. She’s also having to work with friends and family, as well as other staff members. I asked her if she ever gets burned out and she said yes, absolutely, but they designed the shifts like this so nurses can have more days off in order to recharge.

As the person who asked this question stated, it’s unhealthy for anyone with low energy and not in great health to work in certain types of environments. But if that’s what you’re trained in, and you’re at a certain age where you’d rather not start over and go into an entirely new field, what are you going to do? If it becomes apparent that you can’t continue doing that sort of work, you would probably still have to work until you can manifest a more ideal situation.

So here are some tips that might help…some of them might be considered a part of a natural psychic protection program, and others are just things that came to mind as I pondered this:

  1. Listen to binaural beats when you’re not at work – they produce a rhythm that helps your brainwaves match THAT, and then you can slip into that state when you are with patients
  2. Learn and practice Bengston Image cycling – this method can run in the background in your brain, and if you have that going on in the background it can deflect other energies
  3. Get as grounded as you can – be in your body and imagine roots growing down out of your feet into the earth. Place some protection in your aura. The person who asked me to cover this has these tools, but not everyone does, so I just added them here as they are “psychic protection 101” survival tools. 🙂
  4. Try not to be so close to your patients that you can’t take a breather…if you are allowed to, take little breaks and go stand in the sun. I used to do this and run the Middle Pillar meditation, while chanting, which really helps. Of course, if you only get a couple of breaks as my nurse friend does (you can’t even make it outside of the hospital in 15 minutes!), find a quiet corner to self-heal.
  5. When you get home, immediately take a shower, scrub with sea salt, or take sea salt bath, using cedar wood oil (which keeps your power centers strong and keeps other people’s energy at bay). Lemon juice, lemons, and lemon essential oil is also very good with helping you release and clear energies.
  6. Meditate to keep your aura strong and bright. It will build up over time and will eventually grow so bright that people won’t interfere with your light and you aura will attract more gentle, soft, angelic energies to help protect you.
  7. Crystals and stones – in my experience when I used to have to do too many readings at once, the crystals didn’t help at all!!!! They are beautiful and can help with other things, though. You might carry one and wear one to help you remember to call your energy back in.
  8. You could also imbue a talisman with protective energy. Pray with it and hold it in between your hands and charge it with your energy, calling all of your guides and angels to help you get through this and to be of ultimate service without draining your life force.

If there is a way to reduce the hours, or intersperse them, and plan recuperation days in between, that might help as well.

While some people say that psychic protection isn’t necessary, for those of us who are highly sensitive and/or empathic, it is. If we’re not careful, the depression and dark/angry moods of people, as well as the intense vibrations of places, can get us down. Continued exposure to emotional vampires and negative energy can make us sick, both physically and energetically.

For the sensitive person, energy worker/healer, or anyone who needs to practice psychic protection, it’s important to be grounded, to surround yourself with light, and to intend to have that light constantly flowing in to you on a regular basis. That, combined with prayer, meditation, and a strong focus on being positive and flowing gratitude and appreciation, is fantastic and works very well. However, that’s not all that’s needed. When in the face of really bad vibes, the best psychic tool you can employ is HUMOR. Joy, funniness, laughter, ridiculousness, silliness, bawdiness, you name it…humor is POWERFUL.

I started off doing professional readings in a healing center a while ago, and it was grueling at times. In that psychic/energy exchange space, without proper protection, the energy can be devastating – especially for an empathic person. Aside from sitting in the sun in between readings and doing the Middle Pillar Meditation, the only thing that really helped was laughing with my funny friend before and after sessions. Our shared humor – loud, wild, reckless and crazy – broke up the bad vibes like nothing else.

Humor heals – that’s why I am such a huge fan of funniness. It’s therapeutic.

So the next time you’re overwhelmed by negativity, give yourself permission to watch your favorite comedian, or funny movie/TV show, or just connect with a friend you can laugh with. It will heal you beyond anything. And try to keep that humor going, as it is more powerful than you can even imagine. NO JOKE! 🙂

We’re all familiar with the idea of psychic protection, which keeps you safe from bad juju and negativity in all of its different forms.

Over the years, out of sheer necessity, I’ve studied, and put to good use, many different psychic protection rituals and techniques.

So I was thrilled when a viewer asked me to talk a little bit more about the topic, including how to stop people’s negative thoughts.

The thing is, while you can’t change what someone is thinking, you CAN protect yourself so that their thought vibrations don’t affect you as much. And eventually, there is a strong likelihood that they will stop being negative about you and turn their attention elsewhere.

With all of the hands-on research I’ve done, from Kabbalistic rituals, to prayers, to clairvoyant healing methods, I have found one technique that helps more than anything, and it’s this:

The best form of protection is to have your light so bright that it deflects negativity.

While the other techniques I’ve done are amazing and powerful, and I still love them, I’ve noticed a shift that’s taken place, especially since I began working with the Ascended Masters and bringing through the light of the higher realms.

Here is, verbatim, a transmission I received when I asked about the topic above:

“In the presence of those who would seek to destroy you, you must shine a radiance brighter than the sun from your core. The SOLAR LIGHT.

Let that light shine out and with each breath you take, breathe in more light.

Allow the angels to surround you, and picture yourself surrounded by friends, angelic presences of protection.

Talk to the angels of protection, the cloaks, and ask them to deflect negativity and to transmute that energy the other person is reflecting.

In this bubble of light, with the angels around you and your light shining from your core, you will not feel the darkness of others. You will float along in your own biosphere, happy, feeling good, feeling safe and secure and confident in WHO YOU ARE.

This is of the utmost importance.”

It’s not always easy to stay positive and bright, but it’s certainly worth the effort. And another really great side effect is that when you shine bright, others around you will begin to resonate with that brightness. And then their light will spread to others…and it creates a radiant domino effect that has lasting results.

You can protect yourself at work, at home, while driving, and/or in any situation where you feel it’s necessary. Or, you can just practice breathing in this solar light throughout your day, so it just becomes a part of your consciousness and your vibrational field. I mean, ultimately, that’s the best way to do it…so you’re ALWAYS shining bright. And then, when you need it, call in the cloaking angels to keep you extra safe. 🙂

Hi and Happy Halloween!!!

In keeping with the season, I present to you a video with tips on how to protect yourself psychically in scary/haunted/negative places. We all wish these didn’t exist, but indeed they do, and sometimes we find ourselves in these places inadvertently…so my tips will help keep you safe until you can calmly and quietly reach the exit door.

The first time I remember being in a decidedly dark and scary place was when I innocently wandered into a witchy voodoo shop in gay New Orleans. I LOVE New Orleans and of course I love all things witchy, but once I was in the place I started to feel this very dark and not-so-good feeling. There was some bad mojo going on in there and I felt great – relieved and uplifted – the minute I left. Mind you, this was before I delved into the psychic/spiritual world – before I knew anything about energy being a real thing.

Since then, I’ve encountered other similar spaces, and have heard countless stories from friends and clients about things that go bump in the night and places that contain them. I have had to work in places like this, as have many of the people I know. The good thing about energy is that it can be cleared; however, if you live in a negative space or have to work in one, eventually you would be better off moving on than trying to make it work out (unless things change on a very dramatic scale, like people leave, situations change, and someone comes in to clear the space afterwards).

If you don’t have time to watch the video, here are 3 very basic tips in a nutshell:

  • Keep your vibration high and your light strong – powerful light literally burns negative energy away
  • Clear the room using pillars of light in the four corners and one in the center
  • Do rituals like the LBRP
  • Call on the angels, god, and hierarchy of light beings to aid and assist
  • If you feel off, LEAVE!

Having been in situations I’d rather not have been in, I can tell you first hand that things like music, laughter, dancing, singing, and the energy of pure delightful LOVE are ideal when it comes to this. That, and having a no-BS attitude like that of the ladies in the most recent Ghostbuster movie: “The power of Patty compels you!!”

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE things that smell divine. LOVE THEM!!! And I’m crazy about essential oils. They really do make me feel good. All I have to do to shift my energy is go into my closet, take out a little bottle, and smell it. Ahhh, aromatherapy!!!!

In this week’s video I talk about essential oils that help you to meditate, raise your vibration, and activate your clairvoyance/psychic abilities/third eye. I used to burn incense a lot, but now that I have a young one at home, I don’t want to have all that smoke in the air. Plus now I have a super amazing essential oil diffuser that is INCREDIBLE and lets me disperse the most beautiful aromas throughout my mediation/reading/energy healing space.

There are tons of essential oils you can use, and they really do help you to calm down or get energized, to help you tune in, raise the energy of a space, and heal you. You can use them in your skincare, put them onto your pulse points, and diffuse them. You can also clean with them, put them into your homemade toothpaste, ingest them, and all sorts of other things too but I usually just put them in my skincare blends and diffuse them.

In the video above, I talk about the ones I use specifically in the work I do. Because it is a longer video (20 minutes!) here is a short breakdown for you of SOME of the oils I use/talk about:

Frankincense: to create a sanctimonious atmosphere
Rosemary: to get you psychic!
Cinnamon: for psychic protection
Lavender: for relaxation, soothing
Cedar: to help with your personal power
Orange: to create an energy of joy

I love essential oils so much I also have a few room spray blends I made that can not only make a space smell better (I live with 3 boys if you count the cat), but also clear your aura and/or clear the energy of a room. Playing with essential oils is SO MUCH FUN!!! In fact, I’m expecting a delivery today with more rose oil, which my guides told me to incorporate into my skincare routine! I’m tickled and frankly, quite excited. It’s the little things, guys. The little things. 🙂

Time suckers, attention stealers, and energy vampires are everywhere these days. It can be hard to keep your energy fresh and clean and vibrant when you’re surrounded by distractions like spam emails, in-your-face billboards, unsolicited phone calls, irritating people, etc. etc. etc.

If you live in a place like I do, this is pretty much on the uber high-end, so I’ve had to learn how to tune things out. Yet I still have a hard time, especially on trash days, when no less than 10 dump trucks careen up and down my street, rattling windows and setting off car alarms and causing major traffic jams in which cars honk and people not only shout obscenities, but literally scream with rage. For reals. When I’m feeling extra spiritual I am very, very grateful that we have services to remove our trash. But I am human and I do have hormones, and on some days that is not so easy.

Dump trucks aside, today when I opened my email and read yet another message from someone whose newsletter I subscribed to, but am seriously annoyed by because I get a total creepy vibe from him, a nice little two-word mantra popped into my head:

ZERO TOLERANCE.

I have ZERO TOLERANCE for this creepy man and his creepy emails, and I unsubscribed from the list ASAP instead of just deleting the message whatever whatever because maybe one day there will be a good email and he is considered a leader in his field after all.

It’s OK to have ZERO TOLERANCE. In fact, it can be good for you. It can foster peace of mind and help you to be strong and to stay true to yourself.

Why tolerate yucky stuff in your life that makes you feel bad?

At work, you can have ZERO TOLERANCE for Negative Nelly and Bossy Brian. Tune them out, turn them off, avoid, avoid, avoid. If your workplace is teeming with people who annoy you, have ZERO TOLERANCE for that and get a new job! Toxic workplaces will kill you, no joke.

At home, you can have ZERO TOLERANCE for back talk from your kids, for example. At age 3, Ivan is learning how to be sassy and say naughty things. No, we do not call our parents Poopy Butts. That is rude and unacceptable. Time out! ZERO TOLERANCE.

In your life in general, you are allowed to have ZERO TOLERANCE for things that frustrate you.

It’s OK!

Stop letting things slide. If you’re tired of the way things look in your house, or of accepting a certain situation even though you know in your heart and soul it’s wrong for you and not serving your highest possible good, it’s GOOD FOR YOU to have ZERO TOLERANCE!

Listen to your intuition, and pay attention to the things that annoy you or cause your vibration to sink to a level you’re not comfortable with. Keep your energy clean and clear and high, and create good things for yourself. Adopting a ZERO TOLERANCE policy will help!
