I’m here today with Obi-Juan (pun intended), my friend’s highly sensitive dog. I had to hold him in the video because he was crying for her! The only way he stopped crying was if I picked him up. I felt their mutual (intense) anxiety before she left, and luckily realized it was not my own. The energy dissipated, I held Obi-Juan to soothe him, and here we are.

It’s not easy being sensitive. It’s actually really HARD! Sensitive people are affected by so many different energies – from other people, places, and just free-floating vibes. If we don’t know how sensitive we are, we can easily get tricked into thinking we are just having ridiculous mood swings or unprovoked anxiety attacks. That we are not OK.

If you are reading or watching this and you suspect you are highly sensitive, you’re halfway there to managing as a sensitive person. We don’t really “do” the world the way non-sensitives do. We need to work to distinguish our own energy from that of other people and places. We also need to know how to care for ourselves in order to manage our sensitivities.

Here are some basic tips that will help:

1. Spend. Time. Alone.

It’s vital that you spend time alone as a sensitive person! Get to know your own energy. Notice the ebb and flow of your emotions – alone, in a safe and comfortable space. Pay attention to how you feel when you wake up in the morning, and how your emotions feel to you. The more you understand your own baseline energy, and the way your emotions flow, the more easily you will be able to recognize when your energy is being compromised by other people or places.

2. Notice when your emotions and energies change

Pay attention to when your emotions shift. Notice what comes on quickly for no apparent reason. What changed in your environment? Did you just interact with a particular person or group of people? Are you in a new space? Try and identify any external factors that could have contributed to the shift.

3. Clear energy that isn’t yours

Most sensitive will tell you the easiest way to clear unwanted vibes or emotions that are not their own is to LEAVE! And then clear the energy. There are tons of ways to do clearings using energy healing modalities. I also have a free grounding meditation on my website that will help: https://krishanti.com/product/free-grounding-meditation/. You can also do basic things. Taking a walk outside will naturally ground you. Many sensitives swear by water – being in or near a lake or stream, ocean, waterfall, shower, or sea salt bath. Eating a light snack or meal will help, as will drinking water.

Once you get to a place where you can recognize certain energies that provoke an emotional response are in fact not yours, you’ll feel relief. And you will be OK!

Have you felt other people’s energies? How long did it take you to discover you are highly sensitive? And what techniques do you use to clear unwanted energy? Please share in the comments on YouTube!

Thanks so much for reading and watching, and I’ll see you next time!

Today’s video is about empathic overwhelm. Those of us who are ultra sensitive have to nurture and take extra measures to protect ourselves. Why? Because we have the tendency to get burned out more easily than non-empaths.

If you are an empath like me, you probably find you need to stay away from places that overwhelm you. My son is 8 years old and LOVES to go to Dave and Busters to play games and win prizes. We go to one in Hollywood, and it’s totally like being in a casino. Whenever I go there, about 30% of my energy gets drained.

As for places with very low energy, I just don’t go there. I made a video a while back about my trip to Lily Dale in NY. It’s a spiritualist community that is chock full of ghosts and mourning visitors dying to communicate with their deceased loved ones. I will never go there again! It’s an empath’s nightmare – SERIOUSLY!

Empaths must also stay away from energy vampires. These are people who just drain the life out of you. And we must always practice a lot of self–care. I need a lot of alone time; it’s so precious to me. I also meditate daily.

Some of the most important emergency measures empaths can take to heal empathic overwhelm are:

  • Taking therapeutic salt water baths
  • Walking in nature
  • Retreating from the world

Some empaths avoid all people and all places. They never go to shopping malls or amusement parks. Trips to Costco and Home Depot are unheard of, because they’re just too overwhelming. It definitely helps, but the thing is, it’s unfair to have to be a recluse!

If you’re at the level of empathy where it’s encroaching on your ability to live a normal life, here are some things you can do to heal:

Meditate Daily

This free guided meditationreally does ground you and shift your vibration so you feel stronger and more centered. I’ve done it almost every day for years now.

Work on Your Aura

If you work on your aura consistently over the course of a few years, you will bring new levels of light in. This light buffers and protects you. It’s easy to do, too. Just simply imagine you are breathing in a golden light. Have that gold vibration fill up your aura. Do it every day, while you are driving, walking, or working out. There is something so special and sacred about that golden light. Trust me – this WORKS!

Move Your Solar Plexus Energy into your Heart Chakra

A lot of us empaths have unbalanced solar plexus chakras. I learned from author Sanaya Roman, who channels Orin, that the best thing you can do is lift negative solar plexus energy up into your heart chakra. The heart charka is so powerful that it just melts that energy away. I have been practicing this when I feel empathic overwhelm, and it is very, very helpful and powerful.

Don’t let being an empath rob yourself of the enjoyment of life! With the right tools to help you stay safe and centered, you can avoid empathic overwhelm and consistently feel safe and protected.

If you’re empathic or a highly sensitive person, I have 2 new tips for you today that I hope will help!

As you know, coping as a highly sensitive person comes with a set of challenges that can be difficult to navigate. In many ways, being sensitive is good, especially when it comes to feeling, understanding, and transmuting subtle energies. However, it can also negatively impact your life. Feeling everything around you makes it hard to be “normal.” In addition to that, I have discovered that…

Being Empathic Impacts Your Body.

Feeling and sensing energy can really stress you out, which negatively impacts your physical body. At times, you can inadvertently go into a state of hyper vigilance, where you are always on the lookout for the next situation, place, or person you need to avoid in order to feel OK. Sometimes things happen that you weren’t expecting, and it takes hours or even a day to recover. And it tends to get more difficult as you age.

But there’s hope! Here are a couple of game-changing tactics I discovered just this year:

#1: Adaptogenic Herbs

What has REALLY shifted things for me this year is taking Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb that helps your body get conditioned to and adapt to stressful situations. There are other types of adaptogens, including Rhodiola, Siberian Ginseng, and Schisandra. I found Ashwagandha to be the most effective for me personally, but everyone’s different.

Adaptogenic herbs help your body to adapt to stressful situations. Taking them doesn’t mean you are not going to stop being an empath, but they do help with side effects like adrenal fatigue and burnout. Give it a month to 6 weeks before you start seeing results. I was amazed by how good Ashwagandha is for my body.

#2 Center Yourself in Your Heart Chakra

I spoke about this recently, but I just spent a few months slowly and thoroughly reading Soul Loveby Sanaya Roman, who channels Orin. It’s a practice book, so you work the steps as you read it. It guides you though a powerful process of opening your heart chakra and running that energy through your body.

What is changing things for me is the fact that I, as do many of us who are empaths, have a lot of unbalanced solar plexus energy. If, as a fellow empath, you ever feel things in your gut and it HURTS, you know what I’m talking about. I didn’t intend for this to happen; it just did. And nothing I tried (and I tried a LOT of things) really worked to change this. In Soul Love,Sanaya and Orin teach you to lift solar plexus energy into your heart chakra, which transmutes and transforms it.

I highly recommend this book, but if you don’t want to read it or meditate, remind yourself to operate from your heart chakra as often as you can. If you feel something troubling in your gut/solar plexus, imagine lifting that energy into your heart center, which will shift and transform it.

I hope these tips help!
