Astrology Chat with Jim Seymour
Interested in learning more about the depths of astrology? I sat down with astrologer Jim Seymour recently to discuss how we can use astrology to further our spiritual growth.
Jim wrote a lovely synapsis below:
“Our natal charts are literally a “snapshot of the sky” for the exact moment and geographic location of our birth. The Universe is constantly pulsing with stellar and planetary energies at each given moment in time, therefore we’re all literally existing in a cosmic ocean of these powerful, yet unseen energies.
This resonant electromagnetic field~ into which all of us are born~ provides a background mosaic of harmonic and geometric energies that effectively “imprint” each of us in unique and extremely precise ways. The orbiting planets act like lenses, reflectors and step-down transformers of this energy, creating a constantly shifting, spatial orientation to the Earth~ and therefore to us~ in our local neighborhood in space. This baseline pattern of holographic imprinting is reflected in our birth charts, and like DNA, it remains embedded within us for life.
The planets however, do not “cause” things to happen, in the normal sense of the word. They are part of a greater cosmic phenomenon known as the Hermetic Law of Correspondences, which is encapsulated in the ancient axiom “As above, so below.” In other words, the same force that moves the planets also moves us, and this dynamic mechanism of energy correspondences powerfully influences the journey of the spirit soul through each lifetime.”

Jim Seymour’s passion for astrology was ignited back in 1994 while he was living in New South Wales, Australia. There he was cast in the role of Mercury for the Byron Bay stage production of Astro Playback Theater II. After an 82 year old woman came up to the stage with tears in her eyes and told the actors they had just accurately portrayed her life, Jim realized that he had to investigate the ancient “science of the stars” further! He has been studying, applying and writing on the timeless principles of astrology ever since. His lively readings integrate western astrology, eastern wisdom and intuitive insights.
