So I’ve had the book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, for like a year and a half now. I was excited to receive it as a gift from a friend and read one sentence or so, chatted with another friend about it, who mentioned a specific sock-folding process, and then put it on the shelf for future reference.

While browsing for CDs for a road trip at the library (I am old school like that), I found it and decided to try and just get it done. I had no idea what I was really getting myself into.

Clearing is an integral part of the energy healing process, and every spiritual person on the planet knows you have to keep your place in order. I talk about it in several of my programs, have been guided to tell clients to do it, and do it for myself, often.

HOWEVER, Marie Kondo’s advice in this book goes deep, and the way she has you do the program is truly unique. At one point I was thinking I should call my process whilst working this program, “The Life-Changing Magic of F$*k I Can’t Do This!” because it is truly all-encompassing and slightly overwhelming.

In this video, I chat about it a little bit. I made the video last week, and this week some other things shifted. I was guided to do a healing on myself regarding my issues with clothes – I love clothes, but rarely feel put together. In fact I often feel frumpy. Of course it dates back to childhood. So THAT felt good and I was able to part with several more items of clothing that just don’t work – clothing “shoulds” that don’t spark joy.

The place feels much lighter and cleaner, and because my husband did the program too, we have both noticed a new level of clarity in the home. The spice cupboard looks AMAZING, the closets are squeaky clean, and while Ivan’s toys are not 100% there yet (as I said in the video, I did not follow the program to a “T”), the air in here does feel lighter. Yay!

The book sold over 3 million copies so if you have one and have yet to do the program her way, I highly recommend you try it! It is great fun, in retrospect…I think. Well, at least it’s eye-opening. I am still working the process of relating to my possessions and I like that A LOT. They do carry our energy with them, and if we love and respect them, we are also loving and respecting a part of ourselves and our life process here on earth. And that is pretty amazing, right?

That’s all for today! If you need help with connecting to your own intuition or would like guidance in any area of your life, I’m here to do readings, healings, spiritual coaching packages AND one-on-one psychic development training – so don’t hesitate to contact me for a session at ask@krishanti.com.

If you are interested in boosting your psychic and intuitive abilities, I’ve got a great exercise for you in the video above: psychometry! It’s the art of reading the energy of objects, and I guarantee you, if you try it with me, you’ll be amazed by what you pick up.

Everything holds patterns of energy: jewelry, keys, even lipstick! If you open up the powerful chakras in the palms of your hands, you can sense the energy of different objects and do a reading on the person who is energetically attached to them. It’s a super fun exercise and so easy to do. I love leading groups of people through psychometry exercises because everyone gets an intuitive hit on at least one thing – be it through feelings (happy or sad, etc.), vibrations (fast or slow), clairvoyant imagery (pictures in your mind) or clairaudience (thoughts/messages).

To that end, it’s important to remember how the things we possess carry an energetic vibration of their own that can keep us stuck or help us move forward. If you’re ready to make more space in your life, or create changes, take a look at one or all of the following material objects in your life:

  • Shoes
  • Clothes
  • Jewelry
  • Furniture
  • Books
  • Everything in your kitchen
  • Everything in your bathroom
  • Decorative Items
  • Nick-Nacks
  • Music and movies in your playlists
  • Email in your inboxes

And then clean them, re-organize them, or get rid of them. There’s no need to get super attached to material things that don’t serve you. Also, there’s no need to hoard things. Here’s an embarrassing confession I will tell you just to let you know how I’ve been working through this issue: I LOVE makeup and beauty products, and I used to save really good stuff when it was given to me by friends in the industry. I realized last year that I had saved some of these things for so long that they weren’t even good anymore – I had to throw them out!!!! Imagine throwing out Nars and Chanel – for shame, for shame! 🙂 Upon introspection, I realized I’d saved this good loot for fear I wouldn’t get any more. Now I use stuff when I get it – and I get MORE of it to boot – it’s as if I’m learning that the more I use what I have, the more comes! I can use it myself, give it away, whatever I want – and there is always more!!!! It’s great fun now and I’m so grateful for this opportunity to learn an important lesson here.

I hope this helps, and that you have fun with psychometry too. You can also use it to decide whether to get rid of an object or keep it (or buy it in the first place!). And remember, when you keep the stuff around you clean and clear and flowing and moving, you’ll find your thought patterns, energy, and life circumstances will do the same.
