I had a re-discovery of Joseph Campbell recently, whose teachings I’ve been aware of since childhood when my mom listened to his conversations with Bill Moyer and bought his book, The Power of Myth.
Joseph Campbell lectured about myths from all over the world that inform us of who we are and where we come from, and as an adult, it’s so refreshing to read about them from his very scholarly standpoint.
I tend to not get too “out there” in my discourses, as the whole idea of clairvoyance in and of itself is pretty “out there” for a lot of people (although to be honest, it is rather simple and something we are all evolving into – remember how we only use about 10% of our brain capacity?). However, there are some common threads in world religion and mythology that point to something much deeper beneath the surface than we allow into our mundane, everyday lives. Things that have to do with the very fabric of our reality.
This video above is rather rambling, but I just wanted to point out a couple of interesting things that came up for me in re-reading Joseph Campbell, and thinking about Jainism, moksha, samsara, the Tree of Life, and Yggdrasil.
One thing that is pretty fascinating is how we all automatically think of the sky or look up when we think of God. What is kind of funny is that, if you think of primitive humans looking up at the stars, what do you think would come out of the sky?
I don’t get a lot into aliens in the things I teach, as getting too much into the alien thing is MOST DEFINITELY out there, but the concept really does amuse me. How could there NOT be life on other planets? The multi-verse is more expansive than we can possibly imagine! The idea that we are the only form of life, and that we are the most advanced (hah!) is pure hubris.
Can you imagine that some of these myths early humans created are indeed based on reality? I was in Canada this summer, and had the honor of getting to meet a mystical artist who, like me, is half Indian and half Irish, although she is native while I am from the Indian sub-continent. We were talking about legends and myths, star people and shape-shifters, and she told me to read the story of the White Buffalo Calf Woman, a super natural being who interacted with the tribal people. I did some channeling while I was up there, and the Ascended Masters told me to read the story of Nanabozho, who was a shape-shifter from another realm, to learn more about the sacred land (known as the home of the Great Spirit, Wakan Tanka), that I was in. You see, these legends are full of stories of mystical beings appearing on earth. That they were made up, or a figment of someone’s imagination, is just the boring way to explain it away.
Our reality is full of so much more mystery than we can even imagine! All we have to do is be open, be willing to be surprised, and to look beyond the veil for deeper meanings. And then, things will start to unfold.
If you need help with that unfolding, I’m here to help with readings, energy healings, on-demand meditations and my psychic development training program. So just reach out! 🙂
