For many people, the term “aura” seems pretty new-agey. But when you think about it, it makes perfect sense – everything that vibrates naturally emits an energetic force field, so your aura is just the vibration that your cells, molecules, and emotions make.

It is very easy to work with your aura: by just imagining it changing, it actually does change. This, too, makes common sense, because when a particle/photon/electron is viewed, it changes – that’s Quantum Theory.

A healthy aura equates to a healthy body and emotional field, so if you work to balance both, you’ll be in great shape. Here are some of the things your aura needs to be healthy and strong:

  • Sunlight
  • Nature
  • Fresh clean water
  • Fresh clean foods
  • Plenty of rest
  • Good physical activity
  • Positive emotions
  • Positive thoughts
  • High-vibrational music
  • High-vibrational atmospheres

And there you have it! Everything on the opposite end of that list equates to a weaker, clogged, clouded or even torn aura. The good thing is, damage to the aura can be repaired with energy work and intention. You can do this yourself by simply following the basics of the list above, or by working with an energy healer, massage therapist/bodyworker, traditional therapist, TCM practitioner, etc.

A nice, clean, strong aura keeps you feeling good and clear. It helps you manifest what you want to experience in life, and it equates to good physical health as well. Maintaining your aura is as important as brushing your teeth, and it’s as easy to do as applying lotion to your body each day. 🙂

It’s imperative for your personal and spiritual growth that you take time out for self-care, to slow down, tune out the noise of the world around you, and retreat. However you wish to do that is your prerogative (I just noticed how funny that word is spelled!), but just be sure to do it and know that this, too, will impact your overall health, happiness, and well-being!


First things first, I know the term “negative people” is a strong one, but it seems to get to the point pretty much. We are all sparks of the divine, but some of us, either throughout our lives, or at different points in our lives, can be a tad negative.

When you start working to raise your vibration and get your energy strong and high, and/or if you are an empath like I am, you will notice people’s energies and you will likely not really want to be around negative people. The most common advice is to just stay away from them or avoid them. But, as Julia (who does energy healing work) said, this isn’t always possible. And she’s right. So I sat down with the Ascended Masters to see what they had to say about coping with negative people.

For the full run-down, check out the video above. In a nutshell though, they said that negative people are in pain, and that you can’t change them unless they want to change. If you can’t avoid them, i.e. if they are your family or they’re a part of your work life, you must keep your vibration as high as possible so that they will either 1) distance themselves from you or 2) be less negative around you. I know that is a lot easier said than done – while writing this out I am totally remembering some unkind gossips from a former workplace – but in any event, raising your vibration is the best thing you can possibly do energy-wise and it will help, so there is no problem in trying it!

Also, here are some steps for dealing with negative people that the Masters outlined:

  • Be neutral
  • Do not excite or anger yourself or them
  • If you cannot avoid them, become transparent
  • Charge yourself with light; bask in light
  • Forgive yourself for anything this stirs up in you
  • Take time to mend and heal after interacting with a negative person

Consistently work to raise your vibration to high levels (what works for me is following guided meditations, exercising, being creative, being outside, listening to great music, laughing, and spending time with people I love) and it will help repel negativity on all fronts. However, even if you do this, you won’t be able to avoid them 100%, because they’re simply a part of life. Unless you live far away from civilization, you will encounter a variety of different energy types.

This week’s video is a very informal look at crystals that help boost your intuition and keep you clear and grounded. It’s not meant to be super instructional or in-depth with definitions of what crystals are purported to do – it’s just a simple walk-through of what works for me and how I use them.

In a very brief nutshell…

  • Clear Quartz crystals help amplify your intuition and open your third eye and crown centers
  • Amethyst really helps boost your intuition and heighten your ability to connect into the higher realms
  • Selenite clears your aura and personal space
  • Obsidian, hematite, and other black stones are very grounding
  • Rose quartz helps open your heart, grounding you into the energy of love and forgiveness
  • And there are oodles of other stones whose names I have forgotten but are very helpful

A viewer asked me to talk about crystals, hence this video. My take is that they can be very useful and some are indeed very powerful – you can feel the energy. However, they are not ESSENTIAL in developing your intuition and healing abilities; rather, they are nice tools to have if you like to buy things and you feel they assist.

A really fun intuition-boosting/psychic power-enhancing exercise is to go to a place where they sell crystals and stones and just hold them and feel the energy, noting the vibration you sense, the way the stone makes you feel, and what it activates in you. When I first held the large grounding hematite I show in the video, I could instantly sense a very deepening, soothing vibration and I loved it. Same with other crystals I have.

So, again, this is just a fun and silly look-see of what I have and is extremely UN-TECHNICAL so please don’t get upset if I don’t give you deeper encyclopedic-level meanings of stones. I just sense their energy, get a general meaning for what they do, and go from there. 🙂

I’m sure you’ve heard of the white light technique, and how working with the white light can help keep you protected and your energy clear. I love the white light as much as any spiritually oriented person, but today I want to share with you another technique that is just as effective (or even more so).

It’s called the WARM GOLD light.

Warm gold energy really washes through you when you pour it down into your crown chakra, and the warmth of the gold is very cleansing and restorative. I liken it to how Yogis say it’s better to drink warm water or warm liquids than cold, because the warm essence removes toxins from your body. The warm gold energy sort of removes energetic plaque from your chakras and your aura. Gold is very nurturing and healing, and so doing this is like taking a warm gold energy bath that gets you all good and restored!

It’s very easy to visualize this (I walk you through it in the video above).

These processes and techniques may seem imaginary and very pretend-like, but get this! When you do the work with other people who see and feel energy, they will be able to tell what color you’re using and projecting (I’ve seen that time and time again in clairvoyant practice groups). So you’re not just imagining it – it does have a real, lasting effect – especially if you do it regularly.

Can you see people’s auras with your physical eyes? I can’t. In fact, a magical friend and I tried to see each others auras a few years ago by standing in front of a blank wall and kind of half-closing our eyes, and all it did was make us break out into fits of giggles.

While I don’t see auras (unless I’m in bona-fide psychic mode and ready to do a reading and go there), I CAN feel people’s vibrations and can tell if they’re in a positive space or not-so-positive space. And I’m sure you can, too!

And it’s true that other people react and respond to your aura and vibration more than your physical appearance, posture, weight, height, etc. No matter what you look like, it’s your aura that says it all. A happy aura, positive vibration, and a sparkle in your eyes is more attractive…and wonderful…and appealing! than anything else.

In this video, I cover 3 easy ways to clear your aura and keep your vibration high. They’re super simple and practical, and they work! 🙂

I am a highly sensitive person, and I’ve had to be pretty cautious with keeping my energy clear considering the work I do, but it wasn’t until after my son Ivan was born that I started to have a real problem with protecting my energy during sessions. With some people, it felt like my very life force energy was being sucked out of me. It would take me two days to recover.

So, I went on a quest to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it. I discovered, through many readings and healings with some incredible professionals, some amazing techniques, and with practice, found the ones that work best for me. Here are three of them:

1. Replenish your energy with WARM GOLD.

Warm golden energy is very healing to the human nervous system. If you feel drained, worn out, or fried, imagine you’re pouring warm liquid gold into your crown chakra at the top of your head. Let it circulate throughout your head, and then down through your entire body. Imagine your cells are drinking the energy in, and see it flow all throughout your being. Let it fill up your entire aura, and just bask in the golden light. Keep running it until you feel better.

2. Ground yourself with CHOCOLATE BROWN.

I do this when I’m done with sessions for the day, and I love it. The dark brown energy is really restorative, and helps you disconnect from the crazy world of everything, and just kind of go into a healing, hibernating, safe mode. Imagine your crown chakra is turning the most gorgeous shade of dark, rich chocolate. Let it circulate throughout. Then flow that luxurious chocolate energy all throughout your body. It might move more slowly than the gold energy, because it is more of a slow, sort of thick vibration. Just relax, and watch and feel this energy encompass you.

3. Surround your aura with COBALT BLUE.

Cobalt blue protects you, and has a bouncy quality that helps repel other vibrations from your energy field. Imagine your aura surrounding your body, and notice how far out it extends. Is it 6 inches from your skin? A foot? Or bigger? Next, visualize your aura as a giant egg extending above your head, and below your feet. Fill it up with the richest, most powerful cobalt blue, and see it coursing though your aura. Notice how clean and clear it is. Just let that blue swirl through your aura, and notice how it strengthens and buffers your energy field.

If you’re feeling tired, run down, overwhelmed, or worn out, just try one or all of these techniques once or twice a day for a week, and see how you feel overall.

It’s a great way to get yourself into a meditative state (which is healing just on its own), and it will definitely help shift your overall vibration. Let me know how it goes!


When I first started becoming aware of the world of energy, and I heard about “emotional empaths,” I thought they were a rare breed of super-psychic, sensitive people who were different from everyone else. It turns out, that’s not necessarily the case. Empaths, you see, are highly affected by the energies around them. Often referred to as “sponges,” and they get thrown off by other people’s moods and emotions, sensing their joy and excitement (which can be ok to feel), but also their anger, depression, sorrow, and pain (which is awful to feel – especially because a lot of empaths have a hard time discerning whether these feelings belong to themselves, or someone else). Nowadays, I’m almost starting to think it’s more strange NOT to be an empath than to be one, because most of the people I meet for readings and healings are emotional empaths to some degree or another.
If you find your emotions swinging all over the place for no apparent reason, or start to feel overwhelmed, weirded out, or bombarded by energies in different places or spaces, you might (like a lot people) be empathic. The following techniques can help you to get grounded, centered, and back to your own vibration.
1. If a place feels off to you, leave it. Don’t hang around for any “logical” reason – just get out. 
There’s a shop near my home that has amazing clothes, but every time I go in there I get a headache and leave feeling crappy. I’m not going there again anytime soon – unless I’m really ready to risk a potentially amazing fashion find for feeling bad for an afternoon.
2. Do certain people make you feel “off?” If so, create distance between your body and theirs. 
Don’t keep interacting with someone who makes you feel uncomfortable in any way. Get the heck away from them! If any of these people happen to be your boss or co-workers, it’s time to get a new job.
3. If you’re stuck sitting somewhere and you can’t stand it anymore, get up and start walking around. 
Leave the building and walk around the block if you can – just start moving.
4. When you’re feeling down, or not yourself, listen to music. 
Trust your intuition to tell you what you need – soothing, classical music, upbeat, fun music, or mellow, chill-out tunes. The notes will shift your vibration and bring you back to center.
5. Feeling totally burned out? Retreat in solitude for a while.
Take a bath, hide out in your bedroom and watch movies or read books or magazines, or go by yourself to your favorite place in nature. If you can, get out of town for a weekend. The distance will recharge your batteries.
6. Create an Energetic No-Fly Zone around your aura.
Envision your aura as it surrounds your body. Imagine it stretching to 10 feet (or more) in every direction, up above your head, down below your feet, and all around your body. Then see a strong, unbreakable, bullet-proof shield around the edges that keeps all foreign energy out. If you’re feeling super bombarded and threatened, make the shield into iron and put sharp thorns or spikes in it. The more you reinforce this imagery, the more you’ll find that people respect your space, and your vibration will in turn become less sponge-like and absorbent.
7. Did you just get slimed by someone? This shamanic/witchy routine may help.
This technique should be reserved for when you really super need help with clearing. It’s called an “egg cleanse.” Take a raw white egg, hold it between your hands, and pray, pray, pray that it will absorb any negative vibes from your body. Run it all over your head, down your arms, and circle it around each of your chakras, envisioning at all times that it’s absorbing any and all negative energy from your body. When you’re done, throw it into the toilet so it cracks, and then flush the egg – and the bad vibes – away forever.
8. Get creative with crystals, oils, and amulets.
There’s a reason these tools have been in existence for ages. Black tourmaline is great for empaths. Hold it in your hand or over your solar plexus chakra and imagine it protecting you from unwanted stuff. Lemon essential oil cleanses other people’s vibes from your body, and rosemary, lavender, and cedar help strengthen your personal vibration. Any amulet in the form of a ring, necklace, or bracelet will remind you of your own strength and help you from soaking up, and being affected by, other people’s stuff.
9. Go into child’s pose.
This yoga position always helps you regain your own energy. Take a few deep, cleansing breaths and ask your guides to help you release any energy that’s not yours so that you can stay centered, focused, and grounded.
10. Ask yourself what you need right now, and then do it – immediately!
It could be as simple as petting your cat, going for a run, downing a glass of water, eating some chocolate or watching something that will make you laugh out loud. Try this experiment in tuning in to your higher self, and you will definitely receive guidance that is good for you at any given moment.
