Bodywork vs. Distant Energy Healing: Which is Better?

,

Bodywork (like massage therapy), in-person energy healing sessions, and distant energy healing treatments are all extremely helpful in maintaining a sense of balance and keeping your body and energy healthy and clear. With so many options and different types of therapies available, the choices are almost limitless. But today I just want to chat about bodywork vs. distant energy healing. Do you ever wonder if it’s better to get a healing treatment in person vs. a distant energy healing session?

Trust Your Intuition

For a while last year, I worked with a powerful healer over the phone, and the sessions were phenomenal. I could literally feel my energy shifting. Then, after a while, I started to feel like it was rushed in a way, and my energy started to stagnate. So I felt like not doing that anymore. I spoke to a couple of psychic friends who said it seemed like I specifically needed to work with female healers. I did a couple of distant energy healings with two different ladies; the first was amazing, and the second was good, too. I signed up for a third session and while it was good, it wasn’t as great as the first one.

Massage Therapy

My intuition kept nagging at me that I needed to get bodywork done – actual in-person healing massage therapy. So I googled around and found a healer who sounded wonderful on the phone, and went to her for a session. It was so great I got a package of sessions right away, because my body, mind, and soul SO needed it. I hadn’t had a massage since before Ivan was born (he’s 3.5 now). And my body was holding on to so much stress, anxiety, and tension from that major life change, as well as work (and my work can be hard, because people usually don’t go to me when they’re all happy and life is perfect), that I desperately needed some actual in-person bodywork.

Age and Stress

I never was big on massages; I just never needed them. As we age, though, the effects of intense emotions and stress can wear down our bodies, and if we don’t release what we’re holding onto, imbalances and eventually illnesses can develop. I spend a lot of time meditating, and I exercise regularly (though not as much as I used to), but I can really tell now when I’m overwhelmed by tension and stress. I hold it in my jaw, neck, and shoulders. In fact, one day last week it was so bad my jaw actually ACHED. Yes, energy healing can help with that, and even doing my own meditations has helped, but there is something to be said for getting help from other people. You can’t do everything yourself.

I realized how much my body was holding onto the stress I’d been feeling, and decided I needed another massage, though I’m still of the mindset that it’s a luxury (though that is changing). The other massage therapist I’d gone to was booked up, so I tuned in and asked if an acupressure massage at my favorite Korean spa would help, and got a resounding YES. I’ve never had a massage there and didn’t know what to expect, but this was fantastic. She really focused on my neck and shoulders, and helped my body release so much tension and pain. My body relaxed and the pain disappeared completely. I felt restored, refreshed, and renewed.

Do What You’re Drawn To

Sometimes distant energy healing is exactly what you need, and other times it’s more important to have someone actually touch your body and work on you in person. In the end, it’s all about what you really want and what you feel will help. Before you book a session with anyone, though, do a gut-check and ask whether or not they’ll be good for you. Don’t just get a massage at any old place with any old person; don’t just go to any old energy healer. Read reviews, ask friends, and check in with your own intuition to decide what will be best for you.

And that’s my two cents!
