5 Ways to Boost Your Confidence and Self-Worth

When I do a session with a person, I tune out their physical presence and connect with their energetic vibration, as that’s what they’re really projecting out into the world – their energy. Sometimes, a person’s energy is similar to their physical appearance, but other times, it’s completely different. No matter what they look like on the outside, some people have an energy that’s filled with light, joy, and love, while others have an energy that pulses with fear, insecurity, and sorrow. Guess which people are feeling more confident and worthy, regardless of their station in life?

It’s not so much who you are, as who you THINK and FEEL you are, that makes the difference in your vibration, the energetic imprint you’re emitting, and the amount of confidence and self-worth that you feel. I’ve seen the most beautiful, outwardly-successful-looking people in the world struggling with success and happiness because they lack the feelings confidence and self-worth they need in order to project a strong, positive, happy vibration. I’ve likewise seen the most humble-looking people radiate such a force field of true positivity and love that they look and feel dazzlingly gorgeous. Nothing is insurmountable to them, and their happy, fulfilled lives truly reflect their powerfully brilliant energy.

We all have down days. After all, we’re human! But it you’re feeling like you’re muddling through more down days than up, or if you’re struggling with emotions and feelings that are negatively impacting your confidence and self-worth and therefore the overall energetic vibe you’re sending out, then it’s time to make some changes. Here are 5 ways to get there:

1. Identify your perpetrators.
There are always other people behind your lack of self-worth. Many of my clients who are struggling with confidence were teased in school, or treated unfairly by friends and family. When you’re in the midst of an onslaught of bad vibes about yourself, think about the source of that feeling. Who led you to believe you’re worthless, ugly, or stupid? Write their names down, and what they did to you. Try to take a step back and look at them with objectivity. Do they deserve the power you’re giving them to dictate how you feel about yourself? What are their problems and setbacks? See them for how misguided they truly are, and release yourself from the pain their behavior has caused you. Don’t half-ass this writing assigment: it’s incredibly important to get to the source of your lack of confidence and self-worth (even if you already “know”). There is great power in the written word. Once you hash it all out, forgive your persecutors, even if you don’t feel it. You will in time.
2. Throw yourself a pity party for a day or a week, but when the party’s over, it’s OVER.

Let yourself wallow in your feelings of self-deprication and lack of confidence and self-worth. Go all-out! Skip bathing, or shaving, forgo wearing makeup, eat ice cream and watch bad TV. Let yourself mope and cry until you just can’t stand it any more. Then, take a shower, get cleaned up, and go buy yourself a treat. It’s the dawn of a new day.

3. Heal your Inner Goblin.

Colette Baron-Reid, one of my favorite Intuitives, has a great guided meditation to help you work through healing what she refers to as The Goblin, the little presence that feeds you negative self-talk. It’s such a simple technique, so it’s easy to do often, and it really is powerful. Repeat it whenever those bad moments come up, and you’ll start to see a difference.

4. Reinvent yourself.

Are you tired of being the same old you? Then it’s time to decide who you’d rather be. Think about a real person or fictional character you admire, and then try and mirror their positive traits. Think about how you’d rather dress, where you’d rather go, who you’d rather be friends with, where you’d rather live and work. Then start to make some changes. It doesn’t have to happen overnight, but gradually, you will find that you have reinvented yourself. The next step will speed up this process.
5. Shift your energetic imprint.

Believe it or not, it’s quite easy to change up the energy you’re offering and shift your energetic imprint. Debra Lynne Katz, who taught me how to tap into my own psychic abilities, recorded this unique meditation to help you connect with the energy you’re sending out and shift it to a much more optimal vibration. Listen to it as much as you need to, and you’ll soon see very powerful changes taking place in your life.
Let’s face it – the group thought of human collective consciousness has dictated, throughout the centuries, that not everyone can be happy, talented, confident, and worthy of joy and success. But we’re learning more about energy and the universe every day, and we’re shifting old patterns and creating new ones in leaps and bounds. It’s time to own it, and to shed the wounded skin of the old you.

In the famous words of Marianne Williamson, “We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.”
